La Jolla Cove Suites, Cuvier Park, the Grande Colonial and Darlington House all rolled into one
May 8, 2008
Yes, you heard that right…4 locations!!! The groom got ready at La Jolla Cove Suites and the bride at The Grande Colonial. The ceremony took place at my FAVORITE (where I’m getting married!) Cuvier Park in La Jolla. Then we moved to the Darlington House for a beautiful reception. Whew, I’m exhausted just thinking about it!
Another gorgeous couple… I know I always say that, but check ‘em out for yourself!!!
Now with a body and dress like Ashley’s, its impossible not to take some silhouette images of her. She was breathtaking!

I had SO MANY favorites from this wedding, I had a hard time narrowing it down!

THEN it was off to the Darlington House for a romantic reception!
Thanks again to Carrie, you are the best!
The Beverly Mansion at the Grand Tradition Estates in Fallbrook
May 7, 2008
If you are looking for a formal traditional wedding, this is your venue! It even comes with horse and carriage!!! It looks like something out of a Cinderella fairytale. This was my first time photographing here and although it is not MY style, the event was beautiful…just take a look
Shout out goes to Carrie for letting me tag along.
Quite possibly the cutest thing I have EVER seen!!!

-
absolutely stunning images lisa!! love the 6th one awesome framing!!!
Ever heard of the Junipero Serra Museum?
May 4, 2008
“The JunÃpero Serra Museum, in Presidio Park, is one of the most familiar landmarks in San Diego. As a major symbol of the city, it stands atop the hill recognized as the site where California began.”
Who knew???
I’ve been up to Presido Park before, to take portraits, but never really realized the importance of that museum.
I just LOVE my job! I get to travel and learn all about San Diego… the city I love more than anywhere in the world!!! I also LOVE taking pictures of people IN LOVE. THIS couple, April and Ken, surely didn’t let me down. Here are the two…oh so in love, even after all of the years.

Okay, how gorgeous are these girls??? I mean, seriously, I don’t ever have to hire models…the wedding party was actually THIS stunning!

THESE GIRLS SHOULD BE IN A MAGAZINE!!!

This is THE BEST ring exchange I have ever taken. You can’t beat the vantage point I had for this one. Man, that was fun!!! I get so excited when I get images I’m proud of…you know. I really feel blessed to get to do this for a living. It really is an honor to be given the opportunity to give the client one of the most important memories of their lives, ones that will last longer than the lives themselves.

This is what happened when we were trying to do formal posed pictures… the bride asks a friend, off to the side, a question. The friend can’t hear her, so she leans forward…falls into the bushes…and save her drink! Not a drop was spilled…thats talent the others could appreciate!

-
love love love that second image!!! beautiful job on this wedding lisa!
-
yeah, those bridesmaids are gorgeous…but you’re part of the reason why. great shots lisa! and yes, love the angle of the ring shot!
-
Love the one of the three bridesmaids laughing together! Great capture:)
Looking forward to Monday!
San Diego State Aztec Crew Team
April 29, 2008
I recently donated my services to a silent auction for the San Diego Crew Classic. The highest bidders were the parents of this lovely lady, Caitlynn.

I had to wake up at 5:30AM!!!! Normally I go to bed at that time…okay not really, but 6AM is the standard start time for these ladies. They were doing push- up’s when I arrived. Ugh!
The sunrise was beautiful and if I could just get myself to wake up that early, I could experience more of those.

Caitlynn is the COXSWAIN(cock-sin). If you are like me, you aren’t familiar with that word. Basically, she is like the quarterback of the boat. She does the steering and calls all of the shots!!!

Usually the coxswain is the smallest person on the team but as you can see, she packs quite the punch!!!

I was truly impressed by these girls…waking up so early and just working soooo hard at the crack of dawn. Best of luck to them in their season….thanks for having me ![]()

-
Lisa, you’re the best!!!
-
Great Job Lisa.
-
Lisa! These are FANTASTIC!! How did you get so close up to the boats in the water? Were you in another boat?
-
I have so much respect for these girls. I tried out for Crew my freshman year at SDSU + eventually quit due to the rigorous shedule of waking up at 5 a.m. + running for many MANY miles! You did an awesome job of capturing the essence of this team.
-
great pics, Lisa. I can just see you, floating in your big black rubber tire to get those closeup shots!

-
Caitlynn’s parents must have LOVED the close up shots of their daughter in action.
Today is Earthday!
April 22, 2008
In honor of Earthday, I thought I would introduce all of you to one of my little buddies. I really wanted to start a card series with the pictures I took of these little otters. Be on the lookout for new images of these cuties whenever a holiday rolls around. I have quite a few up my sleeve.
I try to do what I can to help the environment by driving an economical car, recycling the majority of my garbage, turning off lights when I’m not using them, etc. I even sent my “save the date” and wedding invitations via EMAIL!!!! It was so easy!!! I have a wedding website and all the guests had to do was click on a link and RSVP!!!….couldn’t have been easier.
Anyway, please do your part and enjoy Earthday 2008!

-

Haven’s One Year Old Birthday partaaaayyyy.
April 14, 2008
Does this say “kid” or what????
Okay so that wasn’t the birthday girl…this is!!!! Little Haven is ONE! Oh my gosh, she is CUTE!!!!!!!
Now she didn’t look like that when I arrived. She looked like this…wondering what I was up to!

So, Haven is the daughter of my fabulous graphic designer Phoebe of Pantages Studios.
I can’t begin to tell you how happy I am with my logo. The logo is absolutely perfect. The great thing about Pantages Studios is, they give you a long questionaire about your tastes and come up with a couple of designs. She nailed it on the head on the first go-round! Thanks Phoebe, I love it!
Okay now back to the birthday party…

Haven’s cute cousin…I didn’t even ask her to pose. This is natural attitude folks ![]()

Wedding at the Prado
April 9, 2008
Carrie McCluskey invited me on yet another wedding of hers. For Teri and Ted’s wedding I really took the photojournalistic approach. It was a morning wedding that started out with the usual, getting ready….

The first time Ted sees his bride to be…

How gorgeous is this set up?? It was coordinated by the ever-so-talented Julie from The Best Wedding for You

And for the finale…a beautifully orchestrated first dance!

Intimate wedding at the Wedding Bowl and reception at Contemporary Museum of Art
April 6, 2008
OH how I loved shooting at Cuvier Park!!! Mostly because that is where I am getting married too!!!
Robin and Tyler were a really cool couple and I would have loved to spend more time around them. They were just fun and bubbly and made the whole day just wonderfully LIGHT! Carrie McCluskey invited me to photograph with her during this event and I’m so glad she did.
The Groomsmen…a little unconventional ![]()

The cutest moment…right after “I pronounce you husband and wife”
