I cannot wait!!! Mary and Patrick are getting married at the Bahia in October!
I met Mary while both of us were working at Sea World. I met Patrick the first time I did a wedding consultation with the two of them. They are a great match!
I finally got to photograph their engagement pictures, which I’m always really excited about!
We decided to start off downtown for some head shots and fun candids. Then we went over to Mission Bay for some sunset pictures. Mary and Patrick live near the bay so its a big part of their lives.
Since their dog Lily plays a major role in their life too, she got to come along and join in the action! Lily manages to add a LOT of personality to the images.
See for yourself
What’s also really cool about this couple…. Patrick Finucane, is running for city council! Listen to what he has to say….
“As a citizen of one of the most attractive cities in America, I am both amazed by the beauty of San Diego and disappointed in the failings of our city government. I am running for city council because I am not only passionate about keeping our neighborhoods clean and safe, but also ensuring that the natural resources and beauty of San Diego are protected and preserved for future generations. By working together, we can prevent special interest groups from controlling local government, demand accountability from City Hall, and set up the long term planning that will improve and protect San Diego’s future. I hope you will join me in this fight.” ~Patrick Finucane

Hi Friends!
Sorry I haven’t had any new blog posts lately… it’s been a crazy month. We’ve been very busy with photography events and we are also in the process of creating a couple of new websites… one for my business and a new website for the San Diego Weddings of Distinction group that I’m in. Keep your fingers crossed!
Anyway, one of my recent weddings was shooting for Xavier Bailey. Thanks Xavier, you’re so much fun to work with!
This wedding was at the Sheraton Harbor Island. Now you may notice that the pictures are mostly of the groom, Chris. I met up with the guys ahead of time to photograph their “getting ready” and some fun portraits.
Chris and Mary decided on doing a first look, which I am definitely a fan of!!! It’s a magical moment where It’s just the two of them with out the pressure of being in front of a large audience. First, the little flower girl delivered a card to him and then Mary arrived. Chris was speechless.
The ceremony at the Sheraton Harbor Island was a private little spot tucked away and right near the marina. I love the ocean so anytime there is a wedding by the water, I’m there!!!
As always, the flower girl and ring bearer are soooo cute.. and there not even trying!

…from the desk of Ross
Hello all,
Lisa and I recently had the opportunity to photograph an exciting day for a good friend of ours, Tatiana.
As you might be able to tell from Tati’s bronzed skin, she is from Brazil. She has worked and lived in San Diego for over 10 years and last Friday was her big day…. she is now officially a U.S. Citizen! Go USA!
The other applicants were quite puzzled over the sight of 2 photographers running around the room like ravenous, crazed paparazzi trying to get the money shot.

She was all smiles at her Citizenship ceremony. She couldn’t contain her excitement!

She definitely appreciated the extra attention!

We continued the festivities with a BBQ in her honor and had many toasts to her U.S. Citizenship.

CONGRATULATIONS Tati! We are so happy for you!

Oh Levyland…Oh how I love thee!
I absolutely L.O.V.E. this venue for weddings! It is a private residence in Carlsbad/Oceanside area and not only is the house modern and spacious, its only 300 yards from the beach!! Oh and I don’t want to forget to mention the lighting….the LIGHTING in that house is perfect!
The windows may have a little somethin’ to do with that

Graham and Jen couldn’t have picked a more perfect day for their wedding! The weather has been a little unpredictable lately. When I say unpredictable, I’m talking about the difference between cloudy and sunny.
…not too much variance here in southern California!
Let’s start off with the s.t.u.n.n.i.n.g. bride Jen.

The ever smiling groom…Graham

My husband took this totem pole picture! He has been shooting with me lately and I’m really impressed with his work!

Graham and Jen…We really loved your style! It reminded us a lot of our own wedding.. You two are very laid-back and fun loving!!! It was an honor for my husband Ross, Simeon and I to be there. You are beautiful people and I wish you an eternity of happiness. Thanks to Chris Ledenbach, DJ, for introducing us and Simeon for helping out!

Eddie Bojorgez of Studio 512 invited me along to shoot Donna and Michaels wedding a couple of weeks ago…I know I know! TWO weeks you’ve been waiting. I’m sorry I made you wait
It was a g.o.r.g.e.o.u.s. day in San Diego! We started out at St Martha’s church in Murrieta. Donna and Michael had a beautiful traditional ceremony which lasted about 45 minutes…not bad!

Then we traveled to the San Louis Rey Mission to take some fun portraits of the bride and groom and their wedding party!

Such a cute couple!

Donna and Michael finished off the day with their reception at Camp Pendleton!

…thanks for having me Eddie!

More of my peeps from SeaWorld!!!!! The Petrzelka family!
That is one of the greatest side effects from having worked at SeaWorld…not only did I get to swim with dolphins and killer whales but I got to make friends that last a lifetime!!!
I’m sure you will be seeing lots of my friends….. for a l.o.n.g. time.
…fasten your seatbelts
This time… the journey takes us to Balboa Park. Tucker (used to work at SeaWorld) and Carly initially wanted to take pictures of the family on the beach but San Diego has been having some unpredictable weather, especially here at the beach area….darn that marine layer!
Anyway, they opted for Balboa Park! Balboa Park has a little something for everyone
Carly and Tucker have two young ones, Jade and Trey. We started out with the posed family portraits but soon realized kids will be kids….which is how I like to roll anyway!!!
The family started all playing while touring around Balboa Park. Thats when the magic happens…when the kids forget there’s a camera around
They’re all very nice, I especially like the one with Lily running by, it’s great. I like the black and white too.
Go Patrick!! Good Luck in the elections…
I love all the pictures with Lily in them…especially the one of her running by. How you set that up? Good luck to Patrick in the election!
The images with the dog are hilarious!! They made me laugh.
