The first bride I ever photographed!

January 12, 2010

Meet Louise:

I photographed her Coronado wedding back in 2005. WOW! Such a gorgeous couple!! THANK YOU Louise and David for making my job easy :)

Fast forward to today and Louise is a mom now, to two adorable boys named Salvatore and Santiago. She also happens to be a funny writer and has a couple of her own blogs! Check ‘em out RunCookWrite and MuffinTopMama

Louise is going to be doing some writing for a new website of mine and I’m so excited to be working with her! I stopped by her home and took some fun pictures of her kids playing with their favorite toys. They made me smile and I hope you do too.

san diego baby photography :: Julian

December 19, 2009

OH MY! I could NOT stop kissing this little baby!!! SERIOUSLY who can resist this face???????

His name is Julian. Julian is the son of my friend Charlotte, who cuts and styles my hair. You may remember her from her maternity session HERE.
Well Julian made it into the world 4 months ago and seems pretty happy about it. He was bright eyed and bushy tailed for the entire photography session!!

  • Sue, January 7, 2010:

    Soooooo Adorable. Love these shots.

san diego baby photography :: Brynley

December 17, 2009

Remember little Brynley’s beautiful golden locks when she was born? If not check ‘em out HERE.
We’ll Brynley’s baaaaack….2 months later and the girls still got it!
Her mom, Liz, does too.

  • Liz & Joel Beckman, December 17, 2009:

We always have so much fun with you Lisa! Thanks for capturing our little one again! Brynley really smiles when you are behind the camera… you’re so great with kids photography!!

  • Sue, January 7, 2010:

Beautiful day for outdoor family photography at Balboa Park

December 4, 2009

Christmas decorations are going up right now all over town!! Have you put your tree up yet????

My friend Wendy has been patiently waiting for the the colorful Christmas decorations to be up so she could take family pictures at Balboa Park. Along with all of the decorations, some of the storefronts repainted the tiles in the Spanish Village…..the colors really P.O.P!

Wendy and Dominic have two of the cutest kids I have ever seen. They look a lot like my brother and me when we were little :) They were also absolute role models of good behavior!!! We brought some bubbles along and I swear, you’ll never see a happier face than a kid with bubbles.

Hopefully the pictures just make you smile..enjoy!

  • Sue, December 4, 2009:

Oh what a beautiful family. Love the pics of the children on the colorful sidewalk, awesome. They are adorable.

  • Liz & Joel Beckman, December 17, 2009:

Great Photos Lisa! You really captured the beauty and joy of the whole family!

Wedding at the Dana :: Jack and Dinah

December 1, 2009

WOW! Thanksgiving in San Diego was absolutely gorgeous!!! I hope you all had a wonderful time spending it with friends and family.

I was extra excited about the beautiful weather because of Jack and Dinah’s wedding at The Dana on Saturday. I’m sure Jack and Dinah were a gazillion times more excited than I was. These two have been together for 20 years! W.O.W!

I overheard Jack say that he’s almost glad that they waited 20 years because he “could now appreciate this day… and Dinah even more”. I thought that was one of the sweetest things I have ever heard.

It turns out that mother nature had something else in mind for their Saturday wedding….RAIN.
It’s OK! It happens sometimes, all you can do is take it in stride like Jack and Dinah.
They were so happy to be getting married that the rain couldn’t spoil the joy of their day!

They decided to see each other for a “First Look” before the ceremony….it was really sweet and I love how the pictures turned out.

This was a fun wedding where the guests never left the dance floor!

  • Sue, December 1, 2009:

Love that they made the best of the day. Beautiful shots, glad you had a break to get some outside pics.

  • Liz & Joel Beckman, December 17, 2009:

Lisa - you always capture such strong emotion in your photography. The way the couple looks at one another is beautiful. Your wedding photography is so classic and timeless. Exactly how a wedding day should be remembered.

Happy Thanksgiving everybody!!!!!!

November 26, 2009

I got the most wonderful email yesterday from a past bride of mine, Michele, and I wanted to pass along a little excerpt to all of you…. that take the time to tune in to see what’s going on in my world. I appreciate the support and although I don’t know a lot of you…. I hope we get to meet someday.

Here’s how it went…

“If you woke up this morning and were able to hear the birds sing, use your vocal cords to utter human sounds, walk to the breakfast table on two good legs, and read the newspaper with two good eyes . . . you are more blessed than millions of those who could not do these simple things.

“If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation . . . you are ahead of 500 million people in the world.

“If you can attend a church, synagogue or mosque meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death . . . you are more blessed than three billion people in the world.

“If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep . . . you are richer than 75% of this world.
‘If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish some place . . . you are among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy.

‘If you are over thirty and either of your parents is still alive you are very rare. Over a billion people are orphans by then.

‘If you hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful . . . you are blessed because the majority can, but most do not.”

The way I see it, giving thanks reminds us how blessed we are. This is not to say that you and I do not have problems. We do, but for us, our blessings far outweigh our burdens.”

With humble thanks to God, my mom, my husband, brother, my family and Ross’s family and all of my friends (you know who you are)…. for going on this ride of life with me. A huge special THANKS…to my clients, whom without, I would not be able to do what I love! You are ALL blessings in my life and I’m better to have known you :)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!!!

OH….and because everyone loves pictures :)

  • Sue, November 30, 2009:

Thank you Lisa. I am truely thankful that God gave me you and your brother. I also want to thank you both for bringing me our extended family. I feel so blessed to have all of my friends and family in my life. I love you. Mom
