Ross and I recently photographed a family portrait session with my good friends: Steph, Todd, Lily and their newest addition to the family… baby Emma.
Steph, Todd and I all worked together at Seaworld and have been good friends ever since!
I just adore them and their kids are as cute as otters
Lily, the 5 year old, is a fiery ball of energy! All she wanted to do was RUN and…man is she fast!
Lucky for us, Lily L.O.V.E.S to be photographed.
Emma is the cutest, happiest little baby and she loves her big sister. I love how her little hairs, on top of her head, stick straight up defiant of gravity.

I love shooting family portraits but it always adds a little sugar on top when the person being photographed brings props and accessories! Stephanie always comes prepared for her sessions. My favorites, this time, are the bunny ears and the flower headbands. How cute are they???

Thanks Steph and Todd, we can’t wait to do it again!

Christmas decorations are going up right now all over town!! Have you put your tree up yet????
My friend Wendy has been patiently waiting for the the colorful Christmas decorations to be up so she could take family pictures at Balboa Park. Along with all of the decorations, some of the storefronts repainted the tiles in the Spanish Village…..the colors really P.O.P!
Wendy and Dominic have two of the cutest kids I have ever seen. They look a lot like my brother and me when we were little
They were also absolute role models of good behavior!!! We brought some bubbles along and I swear, you’ll never see a happier face than a kid with bubbles.
Hopefully the pictures just make you smile..enjoy!

Sea World is the perfect venue to capture some fun images of children….colorful backdrops and lots of fun activities for the kids!! They always end up forgetting about the camera and just have fun!
My friend Luciana asked me to take some portraits of her adorable son, Enzo. He’s three years old and a BALL of energy! We could hardly keep up with him. As you can see… he even had me climbing the ropes!!
If anybody wants family portraits at Sea World, I have a season pass so… I’m in!!!
Your children are only young once and kids grow up so FAST. I think it’s really important to take as many pictures along the way as you can.
What are YOU waiting for??? Book your session TODAY!

The Russ family and I go waaay back. I first met Mike at SeaWorld San Diego.
We both were helping train dolphins for a new dolphin interaction facility called Discovery Cove in Florida. THAT happens to be the place where he met his wife, Kim, who also worked with us.
Fast forward to today….. and now they have two little kiddos AND live right back in San Diego! None of us could stay away from San Diego for too long.
I just L.O.V.E it here!
We decided to take some pictures at Balboa Park, which is always a great choice for family portraits. There’s a lot for the kids to look at and play with.
OH how blessed you two are… to have such a beautiful family. We love you guys.

From the desk of Ross:
I know we’ve been MIA recently but there was good reason! We took a trip to Erie, PA to visit Lisa’s mom…. Hi Mom!!
First thing you notice about Erie is the fall foliage… lots of yellows, oranges and reds. What a great backdrop for family portraits!
Lisa went to high school with Darcie Galleur in Pennsylvania. They got back in touch when Darcie and her husband, Brian, made a trip to San Diego. Darcie invited Lisa back to PA to take some family portraits and the rest is history!
With only had about an hour of light left in the day, we managed to capture quite a few looks. While I spent a little time with the kids skipping rocks in Lake Erie, Lisa was able to get some pics of Darcie and Brian having some wine to relax a little
The Galleur family was nice enough to bring some props with them: a hay bail, pumpkins and flowers. It adds SO much to the images and we are always happy to see people get so excited about their photo sessions. We brought along some props of our own… we pruned some trees at Lisa’s mom house to get 2 bags of colorful leaves. The kids really got a kick out of throwing the leaves in the air and striking a pose!
Darcie and Brian…it was good to see you! We should make this a tradition

We had another fun family portrait session at Balboa Park!!
This time we chose the rose garden as the backdrop for family pictures of my good friend Karey.
Karey and I worked together at SeaWorld for many years….we even went to Australia for a month together!!! So it was my pleasure to take pictures of her entire family….I just love them. Karey’s family lives in Las Vegas and her husband Pete’s family came all the way from Ohio to visit beautiful San Diego.
Karey’s daughter, Izzy, is so cute!!!!!! I just want to squeeze her!!!!
Karey, you have a beautiful and happy family, I can see where you get your never ending smile from!

Wow! It was definitely HOT this week! Even though we scheduled this session at 9 a.m. it was still 90 degrees and climbing rapidly! That didn’t stop us from having fun though
Miranda is a photographer in Ohio with her own website, gloriaphotography.com.
She is one of 4 siblings. She spent about half of her childhood in California. They lost their mom a few years ago and unfortunately their little sister just passed away a couple of weeks ago so they are taking the time to focus on the important things in life, like spending time with loved ones.
Miranda had this to say:
“Right now I find it so encouraging to focus on the joy that children bring and to celebrate the relationships I have with the family that are still around. When I look back on the photos I will be reminded of how grateful I am for my family at this time in my life…pictures bring me so much joy!”
I was very honored that another photographer would choose me to shoot such important family portraits!
Being a professional photographer, Miranda knew how to dress the family… everybody was wearing bright colors and the girls had beautiful flowers in their hair. They even brought a sun umbrella with them.
We photographed the family at the Spanish Village in Balboa Park. She grew up in San Diego and Balboa Park was her favorite place as a kid. It has great colors and good lighting….so it was the perfect spot. She also happens to be 27 weeks pregnant so we threw a few maternity portraits in there too

It’s my brothers birthday today and I wanted to send a shout out his way! My brother Tom is only a year and a half older than me so we grew up being really close. Of course we had the usually fights over the remote control but overall… we did everything together and are now great friends!
He lives in Pennsylvania with his family and at the end of June he completely surprised me and walked into my house…I wasn’t expecting him!!!
Tom and his wife Mindy flew out to San Diego to take a breather and surprise Ross and me by renting a beach house! It was an absolute fantastic week with them and we managed to get some portraits while they were here
Anyway…Tom…I love ya! You are like a brother to me…oh wait a minute… You are a brother!
I have been seriously blessed in my my life and you are one of the ways….love you!

This is so exciting! I finally got to meet little Emma Holiday!!! You remember seeing my friend Stephenie’s baby shower, if not click HERE. Well, that little baby….she’s here…LIVE..in the flesh….and absolutely adorable! With a name like Emma Holiday, she came out of the womb ready to be a star. Emma is only 8 weeks old but you wouldn’t know it, she’s bright eyed and bushy-tailed.

She has her big sister Lily to show her the ropes. Lily is too SWEET for words.

Stephenie and Todd always get really excited about the photo shoots and I absolutely love it.

Stephenie and Todd’s latest idea….a little family bedtime story in their PJ’s!!!!! How CUTE is that?
….love you guys!

In this episode of the daily adventures of Ross and Lisa ::
We were reunited with my past clients Michelle and Michael who make a yearly trip to San Diego with their 4 kids to enjoy this gorgeous city! The kiddos…..Michael, Taylor, Paige and Abby are the sweetest things this side of the Mississippi.
We took pictures out on the cliffs at Law street in Pacific Beach, which just so happens to be the exact spot where Ross and I got engaged
It’s a great location to capture an afternoon sunset!
Outdoor photography is our favorite because nothing beats the look of natural sunlight!

Can’t wait to see you again next year!
Oh my gosh these are adorable. Lily has gotten so big. I absolutely love this photo session. They are all great.
