Kissling Family Portraits at Balboa Park
September 4, 2009
Wow! It was definitely HOT this week! Even though we scheduled this session at 9 a.m. it was still 90 degrees and climbing rapidly! That didn’t stop us from having fun though
Miranda is a photographer in Ohio with her own website, gloriaphotography.com.
She is one of 4 siblings. She spent about half of her childhood in California. They lost their mom a few years ago and unfortunately their little sister just passed away a couple of weeks ago so they are taking the time to focus on the important things in life, like spending time with loved ones.
Miranda had this to say:
“Right now I find it so encouraging to focus on the joy that children bring and to celebrate the relationships I have with the family that are still around. When I look back on the photos I will be reminded of how grateful I am for my family at this time in my life…pictures bring me so much joy!”
I was very honored that another photographer would choose me to shoot such important family portraits!
Being a professional photographer, Miranda knew how to dress the family… everybody was wearing bright colors and the girls had beautiful flowers in their hair. They even brought a sun umbrella with them.
We photographed the family at the Spanish Village in Balboa Park. She grew up in San Diego and Balboa Park was her favorite place as a kid. It has great colors and good lighting….so it was the perfect spot. She also happens to be 27 weeks pregnant so we threw a few maternity portraits in there too

Beautiful, colorful, happy family. It all shows in these pictures and Balboa Park is perfect for color laced pictures. Great job.
